Two years of design and development went into Tsunami before Michele Ezell and her partners, opened its doors in December of 1999. Since then, Michele, her husband Sean, and partners Fred Nonato & Toon Nguyen have positioned Tsunami as a sometimes funky sometimes fancy always flavorful sushi joint.
Tsunami's menu focuses on fresh seafood and diverse Asian dishes. Our menu has remained water cooler conversation with its Japanese and Eastern flare while marrying it to our southern roots.

The sushi was amazing, I definitely recommend the Happy Feet Roll. I also had the spicy tuna roll which is something I get everywhere. It's a bit spicier than the normal selection but also still very good. Even the Miso had a great flavor, not watered down at all. The place was a little chilly inside but the welcome was warm...
We picked up sushi to go and everything was phenomenal! Each roll was fresh and tasty and we loved the unique combinations that you can't find at just any sushi place. Everything was also packaged nicely so by the time we got home there were no spills or rolls that had fallen apart. We will definitely be back!
This is one of the best (or the best) place to eat sushi in town, it has many varieties and great appetizers. It is always fresh and the flavors are amazing. The service is also very good. It is a place to visit in Lafayette.
Part of my top three for sushi in Lafayette. I like the Green monster roll as my favorite. They have an excellent, quaint atmosphere. Very relaxing. They have an excellent hot/cold sake menu starting from house to various flavored sake.
This is a really cool sushi place in downtown Lafayette that has a little more of a club vibe than a restaurant when you first walk in. Everything I tried was a notch above the usual fare you'd get at most any other sushi place. They're just extra here. Little touches go a long way, and they've figured this out and run with it!
